Jeremiyah Love Scores First NFL Touchdown on Cardinals' 70-Yard Opening Drive

Five yards out, Jeremiyah Love turned his first red-zone carry into his first NFL touchdown, capping Arizona’s opening possession in his Week 1 debut against the Chargers.
That score finished a 70-yard drive led by quarterback Jacoby Brissett, with Love bouncing left on second-and-goal and beating a closing defender to the pylon.
The fast start mattered for a rookie drafted No. 3 overall in April after Arizona made him one of the league’s highest-paid running backs and tied major expectations to the pick.
Arizona still split backfield work at least through halftime, with Love sharing carries with veteran free-agent addition Tyler Allgeier as the Cardinals held a 13-7 lead.
The touchdown also offered an early payoff for new coach Mike LaFleur and a rebuilding Cardinals team that faced scrutiny for taking a running back so high.
