$1,199 iPhone 18 Pro and $1,299.99 Galaxy S26 Ultra target premium buyers with sharply different priorities: Apple pushes a smaller 6.3-inch design, while Samsung leans on a 6.9-inch screen, S Pen and DeX.
Camera hardware defines the split. Apple adds a 48MP variable-aperture main camera and up to 2TB storage, while Samsung offers a 200MP main sensor, dual telephotos and 10x optical-quality zoom for longer-range shooting.
Samsung also holds the stronger productivity pitch today, with established Galaxy AI tools, a built-in stylus, Privacy Display and desktop-style external-display support; Apple's Siri AI is still in beta as iPhone 18 Pro awaits its Sept. 18 store launch.
Value depends on timing and ecosystem fit. Samsung's current $200 discount drops the unlocked 256GB S26 Ultra to $1,099.99, but at regular pricing the iPhone starts about $100 lower and may suit buyers already using Apple devices.
