April's Central Board meeting confirmed FIBA will follow the IOC standard for Olympic events, but FIBA-run competitions such as its World Cups remain under a separate review.
A 2-year extension approved in December 2024 pushed FIBA's formal transgender-eligibility process into 2027; until expert recommendations arrive early that year, transgender eligibility requests will not be considered.
