Three people — David Voight, 56, Amy Voight, 54, and their 13-year-old daughter — were found dead Wednesday morning inside their San Carlos home from apparent gunshot wounds.
Police said a neighbor who heard what she believed were gunshots around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday entered the house the next morning after the girl did not leave for school and discovered the bodies.
A gun was recovered inside the home, and investigators said there were no signs of forced entry; they believe the deaths were an isolated incident and are not looking for a suspect.
The home on the 6800 block of Boulder Lake Avenue remained an active scene, with nearby streets expected to stay closed for eight to 10 hours as homicide detectives continued investigating.
Pershing Middle School later confirmed the death of one of its eighth graders, while police asked anyone with information to come forward as the case develops.
