Colorado Reports 25th Measles Case After Exposure at 2 Restaurants, Hotel and Hospital

Colorado health officials said a visitor with confirmed measles may have exposed people in Boulder, Westminster and Lafayette between Sept. 8 and Sept. 12.
Five exposure sites were identified: Avanti Food and Beverage, Gelato Boy West End, Pearl Street Mall, the Denver Gem and Mineral Show at the Westin hotel, and Good Samaritan Hospital’s emergency department.
Oct. 2 is the last day exposed people could develop symptoms, which include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes and a rash that typically starts on the face.
25 measles cases have been confirmed in Colorado this year, versus 31 at this point last year; 22 of this year’s cases were in unvaccinated people and 19 were in children or teens.
