Nissan Unveils 2027 Rogue Hybrid, Eyes 1 Million U.S. Units by 2030

Nissan said the 2027 Rogue will add its first U.S.-market e-Power hybrid, with Japanese imports arriving first and U.S. production starting next year after the gasoline model launches in Tennessee this spring.
e-Power is a series-hybrid system in which the engine generates electricity for the motors rather than driving the wheels, a setup Nissan says better fits U.S. buyers than full EVs after industry losses on electric models.
Christian Meunier said the Rogue hybrid is central to lifting U.S. sales in the small-crossover segment, where it will target Toyota's RAV4 and Honda's CR-V, both strong hybrid sellers.
At full expansion, adding third shifts at Nissan's two U.S. assembly plants could raise domestic output to about 1 million vehicles a year from nearly 487,000 in 2025, supporting its goal to build 80% of U.S. sales locally by 2030.
The Rogue push is part of Nissan's broader turnaround plan, as U.S. sales rose about 10% in the first half while the wider industry fell roughly 3%.
