Prosecutors Cite 100,000 Texts in Caleb Flynn Murder Trial as Evidence of Motive

More than 100,000 texts between Caleb Flynn and his mistress were presented as prosecutors opened his Ohio murder trial, arguing the messages showed he wanted his wife dead and planned a future without her.
One message allegedly said Flynn was "literally trying to think of ways to kill" Ashley Flynn without going to jail, while another sent the day before her death suggested he would make his choice for the mistress.
Prosecutors say Flynn used a 9mm handgun to kill Ashley Flynn, 37, in their Tipp City home on Feb. 16 and staged the scene as a break-in before calling 911 to report an intruder had shot her.
Body-camera footage and officer testimony were shown to jurors, and an FBI agent said investigators checked more than 80 homes for cameras or evidence that could support Flynn's intruder account.
Flynn has pleaded not guilty, and his defense says the affair and texts show bad conduct, not proof of murder, as testimony resumes Monday.
