Three women — including a 90-year-old grandmother — were killed in separate alleged domestic-violence incidents in NSW over the weekend, prompting Katy Gallagher to call family violence levels "unacceptable."
A separate Blue Mountains case deepened the alarm: a 5-year-old child died, while two younger children and a 42-year-old woman remained in critical condition after stabbings police are treating as domestic violence.
Gallagher said the violence was particularly affecting women and children and stressed the issue confronts government "every single day," not only when high-profile cases dominate headlines.
The minister said domestic violence remains a national cabinet priority and is being addressed through a second action plan to end violence against women and children, while warning governments alone cannot solve it.
