Former USPS Worker Indicted Over 300 Utah Ballots, Faces Nov. 30 Court Date

Federal prosecutors said Damon Matai Seei, 34, was arrested Tuesday after a Sept. 16 grand jury indictment accusing him of destroying, delaying and hiding more than 300 Utah mail-in ballots.
June 3 is the key date in the case: prosecutors allege the former letter carrier pulled clearly marked ballots from his route in Eagle Mountain, failed to deliver any of them and dumped them within about 90 minutes.
Voter complaints to the Utah County Clerk triggered the inquiry, and county data showed unusually low participation in the affected area before the June 23 primary.
Investigators say Seei denied a political motive, but officials are still trying to determine whether affected voters received replacement ballots or were ultimately able to vote.
The DOJ said the case—investigated by the USPS inspector general and Homeland Security Investigations—fits a broader federal push to protect election integrity.
