Mistress Says Caleb Flynn Wanted Wife Dead for 1 Year Before Feb. 16 Killing

Alleigha Botner told an Ohio jury Caleb Flynn repeatedly said he wanted Ashley Flynn dead, with the comments escalating to him saying he was thinking of ways to kill her before Ashley was shot Feb. 16.
107,000 messages from their roughly 1 1/2-year affair included texts prosecutors attributed to Flynn such as “I need her to die” and “kill her,” while Botner said he talked about Ashley’s death at least monthly.
Botner said she gave Flynn a Jan. 11 deadline to leave his wife, resumed contact on Feb. 14 after he claimed he was divorcing Ashley, and heard him say Feb. 16 would be “a day I never forget.”
Hours before the killing, Botner testified, she used ChatGPT to research permanent message deletion and sent Flynn screenshots; she also said she had advised him multiple times on deleting data and once saw a gun in his truck.
Flynn has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and related charges in the shooting death prosecutors say he staged as a break-in; Botner admitted lying to the FBI at first and is due back on the stand Thursday.
