Around 30 problems are widely reported, led by navigation and workout crashes, heavy battery drain, missed pool-swim lengths, broken Pace Pro guidance and Mac map-install failures through Garmin Express.
Garmin has released only one update so far, rolled 6.48 out to about 20% of watches, and offers no rollback option if the software makes performance worse.
Several owners traced crashes and “system” battery drain to restoring settings from older Garmin devices; restarting, updating and then factory-resetting with a clean setup are the main workarounds.
The bug load echoes the Fenix 8 launch, and some faults appear inherited across Garmin’s shared software platform, pushing some users to consider Apple Watch Ultra, Suunto or Coros for reliability.
