Georgia Arrests Julius Hunter, 42, After DNA Links Him to 3 Sexual Assault Cases

Aug. 13 brought Hunter’s arrest in Fort Lauderdale after a DeKalb County grand jury indicted him over a 2016 Clarkston attack on a 19-year-old woman allegedly lured by a $300 babysitting ad.
DNA drove the case forward: Georgia investigators said Hunter’s profile, entered into CODIS after a 2021 Florida sexual battery conviction, matched evidence from the Clarkston assault and two other 2016-17 cases in DeKalb and Gwinnett counties.
Authorities say the cases show a broader pattern in which women were allegedly recruited through Craigslist ads for babysitting, modeling, dancing and massage work, then assaulted; Hunter has not been charged in the other two matched cases.
Investigators are still trying to locate the two other women and identify a second man allegedly present in the Clarkston apartment, while urging possible victims in Georgia and New Jersey to call a DeKalb County tip line.
