Because this is a glasses-style frame without a built-in head strap, intense movement, fitness play, fast action and long downward viewing are more likely to shift the device off its narrow optical sweet spot. The tethered puck is another compromise: it keeps the face light, but it means users are still managing a cable and an external module rather than getting a fully self-contained headset. That means the product is better understood as a new category between smart glasses and full headsets. It can likely replace a headset for media, productivity, cloud gaming and many hand-tracked or controller-based Quest titles. For high-intensity VR gaming, though, it still depends on add-ons and a tethered architecture, so it does not yet eliminate the core headset trade-offs — it just redistributes them.
