Summary
$1,299 is the planned price for Meta’s Spring 2027 headset, which Tech Court says is aimed at stationary viewing and work rather than the Quest 3’s broader all-purpose role.
37 pixels per degree and a 100g on-face design give the upcoming headset sharper text and lighter wear, but its 70° field of view and puck-and-cable setup trade away immersion and mobility.
Quest 3, available now for $599, keeps the edge for gaming and fitness with a 110° field of view, untethered use, included controllers and longer sessions.
128GB base storage with expansion and possible separate controller purchases position the new device as a premium niche option, while reviewers still flag unconfirmed battery life and advise waiting for post-launch tests.
