Final Cut Camera 2.4 adds variable-aperture control for iPhone 18 Pro, letting users shoot in aperture priority alongside shutter priority and full manual modes.
The update also expands pro tools with Kelvin white balance, histogram or RGB parade, false color, clipping indicators, customizable overlays, two-finger tap focus and a tally lamp.
ProRes options now extend beyond HQ to ProRes 422 HQ, 422 and 422 LT, while users can disable digital zoom to preserve full optical resolution.
Apple also added cinematic mode to existing footage—including ProRes and Apple Log—and clean HDMI output for monitoring or external recording on iPhone 17 Pro and newer.
Version 2.4 is free today, but it still lacks Apple’s new tracking autofocus, a notable gap for video users on the latest iPhones.
