Amazon Cuts Apple AirTag 2 to $24 in Prime Day Sale

Q: With Black Friday looming, is Amazon’s record-low price on the brand-new AirTag 2 a genuine steal or a clever early-season trap?

Amazon’s $24 AirTag 2 is a solid buy for the right shopper, but not an obvious “run, don’t walk” Black Friday steal. The case for buying now is straightforward: this is the all-time low for a brand-new single AirTag 2, down from $29, and Apple accessories rarely get huge discounts so soon after launch. AirTag 2 is also meaningfully better than the original, with a louder speaker, longer Precision Finding range, Apple Watch support on newer models, and the same easy CR2032 replaceable battery. If you need one tracker now, $24 is the best verified single-unit price currently available. The case for waiting is just as real. The discount is modest at $5, and deal trackers have already seen the 4-pack fall to $89 regularly and, at times, as low as about $79.99. That means shoppers who need multiple tags could see a better per-unit value later in the season, especially around Black Friday or Cyber Monday, when small Apple accessories often get sharper bundle pricing. So this is not a trap, but it is also not a once-a-year windfall. It is a genuine record-low price on a new Apple product, which gives it credibility. Still, buyers should match the deal to their need: purchase now if you want a single AirTag 2 immediately, but if you can wait and may want more than one, Black Friday could plausibly beat it on bundle value.

$24 gets Prime shoppers Apple’s 2026 AirTag 2 in new condition, matching the tracker’s lowest price since its $29 launch.
Amazon’s early fall Prime Day sale is driving the discount, though the markdown is modest at $5 off because the product is still a recent release.
A 4-pack is also on sale for $89, or $22.50 each, but that bundle has fallen as much as $9 lower in recent months.
The single AirTag 2 could dip further before Prime Day ends early Oct. 8 ET, though the report says any move much below $24 is unlikely.
