Summary
Oct. 1 at 6:18 p.m., Lafourche Parish deputies responded to a welfare call in Raceland and found Ken Urker dead on a bed after relatives entered through an unlocked bedroom window.
Family members said Urker had made depressed comments at church Wednesday, later appeared silent on a TikTok Live while driving around 11 p.m., and then failed to answer calls, the door, or show up for work.
Deputies said Urker was cold to the touch, not breathing, and appeared to have been dead for an extended period; his face and arms were blue, and a blood-spotted paper towel was on his left arm.
Investigators also reported syringes, a spoon, and a brown powdery substance in a bathroom, plus a syringe and handgun on the nightstand; the cause of death has not been confirmed and the case remains under investigation.
