Summary
Kyiv's Northern Bridge was hit Saturday morning, damaging the road surface and trolleybus overhead wires and forcing authorities to block traffic from the left to the right bank.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the bridge is the second major crossing struck in recent days, after repeated drone attacks on the Southern Bridge since Thursday.
Those two bridges connect eastern and western Kyiv and had not been hit before this week, marking what Klitschko described as a new phase in Moscow's assault on the capital.
Friday's crisis meeting followed earlier bridge strikes that disrupted metro service and road traffic, as Klitschko warned Kyiv faced a "very dramatic situation" from attacks on critical infrastructure, logistics and housing.
