Jan. 3, 2026 was the date President Donald Trump ordered Operation Absolute Resolve, described as a raid in Venezuela aimed at capturing Nicolás Maduro.
The new detail surfaced in a Fox News retrospective by anchor Mike Emanuel, who said he was on air that weekend when the order came down and the network scrapped scheduled guests for breaking-news coverage.
Emanuel mentioned the Venezuela operation alongside other major Trump-era military news he anchored, including June 21, 2025 precision strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities under Operation Midnight Hammer.
The report offers no further operational details, casualties or outcome, leaving the disclosure itself as the main new development.
