Facebook Launches 'Your Algorithm' for Feed and Reels, Using LLMs to Update Recommendations in Real Time

Summary
Facebook rolled out “Your Algorithm,” a new control panel that lets users directly add and manage topics they want to see in Feed and Facebook Reels.
Meta said recommendations change right away after users mark topics or posts as “interested” or “not interested,” and it may ask follow-up questions so people can describe preferences in their own words.
Users can reach the feature through the “Your Algorithm” section or the three-dots menu on individual posts, where “interested” and “not interested” options may also appear beneath content.
Meta tied the launch to a broader AI push on Facebook, saying it is using large language models more heavily in ranking systems to interpret interests, context and intent through natural-language input.
The feature extends tools Meta already introduced on Instagram earlier this year and mirrors the similar “Dear Algo” recommendation controls it launched on Threads.
