Summary
Apple confirmed the full-sized HomePod 2 can serve as a default speaker for all Mac desktops and laptops with Wi-Fi 6E or later.
The clarification expands an earlier report centered on the HomePod mini 2, showing the same compatibility also applies to the second-generation standard HomePod.
Apple’s fine print now lists both supported devices—HomePod mini 2 and HomePod (2nd generation)—for Macs that meet the Wi-Fi 6E requirement.
