Summary
Nearly a dozen teal knives, a journal, a financial notebook, a laptop and a safe were seized from the family’s Towanda, Pennsylvania, home as investigators sought a motive in the killings.
Court filings say 27-year-old Metallica Rose Harrison is charged with killing her husband, Charles Harrison, and their 3-year-old son in a Great Wolf Lodge room after a 911 call in which she allegedly said both were already dead.
The family had stayed at the resort since Sept. 21 and was due to check out Tuesday; investigators said they were also examining why they had left home and whether writings or electronics documented homicidal or suicidal intent.
Relatives told police Harrison was controlling and had isolated the father and son; one family member said she resented the child because she never wanted to become pregnant.
Harrison was denied bail and remains jailed ahead of an Oct. 21 preliminary hearing, while Great Wolf Lodge said it is cooperating with law enforcement.
