Summary
Around 9 p.m. ET, MLB called off ALCS Game 4 between the Rays and Guardians after steady rain in Cleveland prevented a scheduled 8 p.m. first pitch.
The rainout moved Game 4 to Saturday and pushed Game 5 to Sunday, wiping out the series' planned off day and travel day.
If the matchup goes the distance, Cleveland and Tampa Bay would have to play four straight days—Games 4 through 7 from Saturday through Tuesday—to decide the AL pennant.
The Guardians said Friday tickets will be honored for Sunday's game, with gates set to open at 2:30 p.m. ET.
It was the first postseason rain postponement in nearly four years, since the 2022 World Series Game 3 delay between Houston and Philadelphia.
