Summary
CBS Sports' 2026 Midseason All-America team gave the Big Ten a nation-leading 7 selections through Week 7, ahead of the SEC and ACC at 6 each and the Big 12 at 5.
Six players were unanimous picks, up from 3 in the preseason: Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith, Texas' Colin Simmons, LSU's Princewill Umanmielen, Tennessee's Xavier Gilliam and Georgia's Chris Cole, with Smith and Simmons unanimous in both votes.
The shift reflects a sharp reordering from the preseason, when the SEC had 15 first-team selections; at midseason, only Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop made the offensive first team from the conference.
Notre Dame, despite a 6-1 record and No. 4 ranking, was shut out entirely, while Big Ten linemen dominated the ballot with 4 of 5 offensive-line spots.
