Trump took the stage at Sioux Gateway Airport around 7:15 p.m. Thursday and spoke until about 8:45 p.m., extending his nationwide push for Republicans in tight midterm races.
Sioux City’s rally was built as a full campaign event, with doors opening in the afternoon and Republican speakers beginning in the 4 p.m. hour before Trump’s appearance.
Chuck Grassley, Ashley Hinson, Chris McGowan, Zach Lahn and Iowa GOP chair Jeff Kaufmann appeared on the program, tying the stop directly to Iowa’s Senate, congressional and governor contests.
Preparations began Wednesday at the airport, where crews set up entrance gates and large LED screens, underscoring the scale of Trump’s latest midterm campaign stop.
