Summary
A 60-year-old man died near Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway after a falling tree struck him at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday, as Storm Boelo swept across the UK.
161,400 properties were still without electricity by 15:00 GMT, and the Energy Networks Association said dangerous conditions were delaying repairs by limiting when engineers could work safely.
Wind gusts reached 85 mph in Machrihanish and 84 mph in Stornoway and Capel Curig, with amber wind warnings covering Scotland and parts of northern England until 21:00 Sunday.
Flood risks also rose, with 17 warnings in Scotland and four in England and Wales, while ferry sailings, flights and train services were disrupted and weekend events were canceled.
838,700 properties have suffered power cuts across Storm Boelo and Friday's Storm Austen, and Scottish officials warned adverse weather could return in the coming days.
