JD Vance Backs Bengals to Make a Run After 35-Point Ravens Win

Q: What hidden halftime adjustments sparked a 35-point explosion that left the home team completely stunned and scoreless?

Cincinnati’s surge was driven by a mix of emotional reset, protection fixes, and a more aggressive defensive plan. At halftime, Ja’Marr Chase delivered the spark inside the locker room. He said he was “screaming” that someone had to make a play and told the offense it could not keep leaning on the defense. Teammates and coaches described it as a wake-up call that reset the entire team’s energy. On the field, the Bengals adjusted their offense to get Joe Burrow out of trouble. In the first half, Baltimore’s pressure disrupted everything and Cincinnati managed only 59 yards. After the break, Burrow got the ball out faster, the Bengals leaned harder into their base passing game, and Tee Higgins became a major second-half focal point. The result was extreme efficiency: Cincinnati opened with back-to-back touchdown drives, and Burrow was nearly flawless after halftime, finishing the half with 16 of 18 passing for 249 yards and four touchdowns in one widely cited account. Defensively, coordinator Al Golden changed the tone by increasing pressure and tightening the edges. Baltimore had hurt Cincinnati early with screens, perimeter action and steady third-down conversions. In the second half, the Bengals corralled those perimeter plays, forced a three-and-out to open the half, created a turnover on downs deep in Bengals territory, and held Derrick Henry to 45 yards on 17 carries overall. Baltimore managed only 101 second-half yards and never recovered once Cincinnati seized momentum.

Q: How did a simple pair of football gloves turn a high-profile VIP visit into an unforgettable moment for a young fan?

A simple pair of Bengals gloves became the bridge between a routine VIP stop and a deeply personal fan moment when Ja’Marr Chase noticed them and spoke directly to 6-year-old Vivek Vance. During Vice President JD Vance’s visit to the Bengals’ training facility, Chase saw the child wearing or holding the gloves and paused to compliment him, saying words to the effect of, “Nice gloves, man.” That brief exchange mattered because it came from one of the team’s biggest stars, turning an otherwise formal visit into a genuine interaction centered on a young fan. Vance later said the gesture “made my little six-year-old’s year” and publicly thanked Chase on X, calling him “an amazing talent.” Multiple reports echoed that Vivek was “extremely excited” by the comment. What made the moment memorable was not the gloves themselves, but what they signaled: the boy’s visible loyalty to the team and Chase’s willingness to acknowledge it. In the middle of a high-profile visit involving security, staff and public attention, a star player picked out one child’s fan gear and made him feel seen. That is why the episode stood out. A small, spontaneous act of recognition from Ja’Marr Chase transformed a ceremonial stop at practice into an unforgettable experience for a 6-year-old Bengals fan.

Vice President JD Vance said Cincinnati is “going to make a run” after the Bengals beat Baltimore 35-0 in the second half Sunday for their second straight win.
Four Joe Burrow touchdown passes drove the comeback-style surge, giving Vance fresh reason to back a team that has alternated two-win and two-loss stretches this season.
Five upcoming games could test that prediction quickly: four are against teams with losing records, though a matchup with division co-leader Pittsburgh looms in that span.
Vance also used the moment to praise Ja’Marr Chase, saying the receiver made his 6-year-old son’s year during a recent visit to the Bengals’ training facility.
