iPhone Duo Buyers Face $999 Inner-Screen Repairs, Making AppleCare+ Hard to Skip

Summary
$999 is Apple’s listed out-of-warranty price to repair the iPhone Duo’s 7.6-inch inner display, driving recommendations that buyers add AppleCare+ or AppleCare One.
Other repair charges are also steep: $379 for the outer screen, $199 for back glass, $229 each for battery or rear cameras, and $1,499 for unspecified major damage.
AppleCare+ costs $20 a month or $200 a year, putting two years of coverage at $400 to $480 before reduced service fees of $19 to $99 per incident.
A case and Ceramic Shield 2 may help protect the outer display and back, but the foldable inner screen lacks that protection and leaves drops, scratches, hinge damage, theft and loss as bigger risks.
