Summary
$15,500 is the newly disclosed price for upgrading the M5 Ultra Mac Studio from 96GB to 512GB of unified memory on Apple’s configurator.
The option is limited to the top-end M5 Ultra with a 36-core CPU and 80-core GPU, putting the entry price for that 512GB configuration at $22,299 with 1TB of storage.
A fully loaded version with 16TB of storage reaches $29,799, making the memory bump one of the costliest single upgrades in Apple’s Mac lineup.
Apple had said in August that a 512GB version would arrive in October; orders placed now are slated to arrive in late November to early December.
