Summary
18 points in 22 minutes gave USC an immediate boost as JuJu Watkins returned in an exhibition win over California after missing last season with a torn ACL.
Watkins averaged 25.6 points across her first two seasons before the injury, and said the long buildup to her comeback has sharpened both her motivation and enjoyment of the game.
Jazzy Davidson — last season's Big Ten Freshman of the Year at 17.9 points per game — joins Watkins in the backcourt after the two built chemistry during Watkins' rehab.
USC's deeper roster also showed through in the exhibition, with Saniyah Hall posting 23 points, six rebounds and five steals as coach Lindsay Gottlieb praised the impact of the Trojans' newcomers.
No. 3 USC opens Monday against UNLV in Las Vegas, chasing the program's first national championship since 1984.
