Summary
March 2027 will bring the last OS update—v213—for Meta’s Quest 2 and Quest Pro, ending new feature support for both headsets.
End-2027 security updates will still continue, and Meta said cross-play multiplayer access and existing game compatibility will remain unless titles depend on post-2027 OS features.
Quest 2 owners would get just over seven years of security support, while developers must give six months’ notice before dropping game support.
Meta is shifting focus to newer hardware—the $599 Quest 3, $349 Quest 3S, and expected $1,299 VR Glasses—as the older Quest 2 chipset falls behind.
