Summary
Joe Fagnano will make his first NFL start Thursday for 4-4 Baltimore, becoming the second undrafted rookie quarterback in Ravens history to start a game.
Lamar Jackson hurt his right thumb one snap into Sunday’s return and Tyler Huntley suffered a toe injury, leaving Baltimore little choice on a short week.
Fagnano replaced Jackson for most of the loss to Buffalo and finished 10 of 21 for 91 yards with 1 interception.
Baltimore added Kedon Slovis to the active roster and Austin Reed to the practice squad, but the Thursday turnaround effectively locked in Fagnano, who was upgraded from limited to full participation Tuesday despite an ankle issue.
The start comes with the Ravens on a three-game skid and facing one of the AFC’s better teams in Jacksonville.
