Summary
August 20 will bring S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s first paid story expansion, Cost of Hope, alongside the free Update 2.0 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Cost of Hope puts Skif into a parallel storyline triggered by a mysterious PDA signal, with rising conflict between the Duty and Freedom factions driving the new campaign.
Two new regions — the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the Iron Forest — headline the expansion’s content, joined by new weapons, gear and mutated enemies.
Update 2.0 shifts the game to a new Unreal Engine 5 version to improve stability and performance, while also adding gameplay changes and content for all owners.
GSC Game World has not listed a standalone price, but the DLC is included in the game’s Deluxe and Ultimate editions and is planned as the first of several expansions.
