Three people were found dead Friday in a Madison, New York, home, with deputies saying Justin Sislo, 35, fatally shot his parents before killing himself.
A recent $10,000 bail release put Sislo back home after a July 29 arrest in a domestic-violence case carrying about two dozen charges; his parents had bailed him out twice in one month.
Investigators said Sislo had a violent history, including June charges in Cayuga County for strangulation and endangering an incompetent, and was under two protective orders barring him from possessing firearms.
Several guns were recovered during his most recent arrest, and Sheriff Todd Hood said the judge should have denied bail and kept Sislo in custody.
Steve Sislo, 76, was a prominent local businessman and philanthropist, making the killings a wider shock in Madison County beyond the immediate family tragedy.
