Apple Cuts iPhone 18 Pro Display Costs to $68 as RAM Shortage Threatens $300 Price Hike

$68 is what Apple will pay LG and Samsung for each iPhone 18 Pro Max OLED panel, down from $110-$120 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Apple pushed for the lower display prices to offset surging RAM costs, as AI data-center buildouts have tightened memory supply and lifted chip prices.
That relief may only partly blunt higher iPhone prices: market researchers still expect U.S. starting prices for iPhone 18 Pro models to rise by $200-$300.
At the high end, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could start at $1,399 and $1,499 when Apple unveils them in September alongside a foldable iPhone.
