Not really—at $1,899, a foldable that still snaps at a known weak point has a hard time fully justifying its price. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is clearly better than last year’s model. JerryRigEverything’s test showed stronger scratch resistance on the ceramic outer display, no battery rupture this time, and better overall toughness. Google’s added IP68 dust and water resistance, a lighter chassis, a new hinge, and a composite back that appears less crack-prone. Those are meaningful upgrades for a category where durability matters more than almost anything else. But the core problem remains unresolved. The phone still failed the bend test at the antenna line, the same structural weak spot seen across multiple Pixel fold generations. In the test, the front panel popped off and the back could be torn away by hand. That does not automatically mean the phone will break in normal use; these torture tests apply extreme force. Still, for a premium device marketed as “three times more durable,” repeating the same failure point undermines that claim. Whether the price makes sense depends on what buyers value. If someone wants Google’s software, AI tools, multitasking features, IP68 protection, and Pixel camera experience in a foldable, there is still a case for it. But on pure hardware confidence, the durability result weakens the value proposition. At this price, buyers are entitled to expect not just improvement, but a convincing fix to a long-running design flaw.
