Summary
Aug. 24-25, NASA astronaut Christina Koch will return to North Carolina State University for a two-day visit centered on public appearances and campus events.
Monday’s public program in Raleigh runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Oval, followed by a noon-to-1 p.m. media availability at Duke Energy Hall.
Tuesday shifts to private events for students and faculty, including a student-led discussion on wellness, grit and self-trust and a higher-education presentation with NC State’s chancellor; both will be livestreamed.
Koch, an NC State alumna, flew on Artemis II in April, when she and three other astronauts traveled around the moon on the first crewed mission beyond low Earth orbit since 1972.
That mission made Koch the first woman to leave low Earth orbit and the first woman to travel to and around the moon.
