Dolly Parton's 'The Very Best Of' Hits UK No. 1 After 350% Surge for '9 to 5'

'The Very Best Of' returned to the UK Official Album Downloads chart at No. 1, giving Dolly Parton her first-ever leader on that ranking days after her Aug. 25 death.
The jump followed a broad posthumous surge in listening: Parton's catalog streams and sales spiked after her death, while the compilation had never previously cracked the chart's top 10 and last appeared at No. 24 in February.
'9 to 5' is also tracking at No. 1 on the UK midweek singles chart after a 350% week-over-week rise in streams and sales, putting Parton on course for her first UK No. 1 single.
The UK rebound spans multiple releases, with 'Blue Smoke – The Best Of' at No. 7, 'Pure and Simple' at No. 8 and 'The Complete Trio Collection' at No. 10 on the downloads chart.
Globally, Luminate said Parton's audio and video streams jumped 1,549% on Aug. 25, and she became the world's most-streamed artist the next day with nearly 80 million on-demand audio plays.
