At $169.95, the camera targets the low-fi digicam trend rather than image quality, with a 10MP 1/3.06-inch sensor that the review said trails smartphones and can render fine detail softly.
Testing also flagged noticeable shutter lag, frequent overexposure outdoors and battery life of under 100 shots, though exposure compensation and built-in USB-C transfer and charging help offset those drawbacks.
Instax printing still requires separate hardware, but the Pal 2 can connect directly to compatible Instax printers, leaving it positioned as a nostalgia-focused accessory more than a do-it-all camera.
