Summary
Lionel Messi released a video message Tuesday thanking supporters for loving him and standing by him throughout his Argentina career ahead of his farewell match.
Tuesday night's friendly against Benin at Buenos Aires' Estadio Monumental is dedicated to Messi and serves as Argentina's public goodbye after his national-team retirement.
Members of Argentina's 2022 World Cup-winning squad and the team that finished runner-up at this year's World Cup are set to take part in the tribute.
Messi retired from international football shortly after the World Cup final but will continue his club career with Inter Miami in MLS.
