DIRECTV rolled out customizable streaming plans that let customers choose either standard packages with 90 to 185-plus channels or lower-cost genre bundles, with no satellite dish or contract required.
Prices start at $39.99 a month for the MyNews pack, $42.99 for MyEntertainment, $49.99 for MySports and $20.99 for MyKids, while the main ENTERTAINMENT package starts at $59.99.
The company is using promotional pricing to drive sign-ups, including a five-day free trial, a free first month of its Sports Pack and introductory discounts on several broader plans.
The launch positions DIRECTV against fixed-channel streaming rivals by emphasizing mix-and-match viewing, optional add-ons such as HBO Max and Netflix, and a Spanish-language package with 100-plus channels.
