Meta Quest 3 Unlocks 207Hz by Default, With 240Hz Experimental Mode

Summary
A recent software update lets Quest 3 run above 200Hz, with 207Hz as the default extended refresh rate and 240Hz available through an experimental developer-only setup.
The Unity Cube has been updated to support 207Hz on the Horizon Store, making it one of the first Quest 3 apps to demonstrate the new mode in a standalone app.
Testing requires a Quest 3 and Horizon runtime v2.7 or later; 240Hz also needs developer mode, ADB commands and a USB connection, and cannot be enabled directly by app developers.
Hands-on results showed noticeably smoother motion and stronger immersion, but 207Hz was fragile under load and 240Hz produced tearing, haloing and duplicated images in unsupported scenes.
Meta’s implementation is simple for developers—essentially a refresh-rate request in code—though the report said stability improved after switching the app to Vulkan.
